Starfish and Spiders

I've been having one of those days: no not one of those days, that was yesterday! No one of those days where everything you read seems poignant and exciting. I've chewed through eight books today in pursuit of an essay about church planting! And in each thing I have read I have found something thats made me go hmm.. So I just read about Starfish organisations, decentralised and therefore resilient.. Fits with what I've been thinking for a while. Also read some great stuff about apostolic leadership which sheds light on so much. And I read a book which made me go grrrr..

Lars and the Real Girl

OK: so on one level (possibly the level that a couple of people were in the movie theatre for) this is a film about a man and hos relationship with a sex toy. Now before you get on your high horses and have me fired (is that possible?), its so much more than that. Its a very beautiful look at what a community does when one of its members is struggling. Its really worth a watch (Ordinands, church leaders) for the scenes with the church alone. So beautiful!

Back in Bristol!

Am propped up in my big ole bed, feeling very sleepy and a little smug about having the house to myself for a few days! Yay! (Here speaketh the introvert who has seen lots fo very lovely people in the last few days!) Do also have a chunk of work to do, need to go to the dentist, write two more essays and edit one and then crack on with learning journal, CV and all that! But if anyone would like to distract that would be lovely! Bless you one and all
