Ouchy...

This may look just like a hand, but see that tiny red triangle at the base of my thumb... thats a very sore cut that is.. I did it whilst cleaning the Boiler room. ooopps

to dog or not to dog

Oooooh.. dilemma.. I just got offered a dog.. A cross between a poodle and a labrador (Lord alone knows what it looks like).. so tempting.. have really wanted a dog for a while now.. But so impractical. Maybe it could be a boilerdog and come hang out in London too.. hmmm... who knows.. Alll wisdom gratefully received..

Bono is Harry Potter

OK.. you need to bear with me! Had a fantastic chilled late lunch early evening hang out with long time friend Paula yesterday (Miss Tryb to the rest of you!).. we had salad in Spitalfields and then wandered to the oh so trendy Hoxton Square- and sat under a tree drinking beers! As is entirely fitting of Oxbridge grads we hit all the serious topics in life: fashion, house prices, and of course Harry Potter. we came up witha whole bunch of questions as to where the next book might go: namely- Who is RAB? (a relative of Sirius, surely we have to return to Grimmauld Place in the next book!) Did they die whilst getting the horcrux and how did the poition get back in? What will happen on Harry's final visit to Aunt Petunia? Will there be a big showdown at Bill and Fleur's wedding? Will Ron and Hermione go with Harry? Could Griffindor's sword be a horcrux? Is Snape really a baddie? Rufus Scrimgeour... good or bad? Is Voldemort actually already dead? I'm inclined to thin...

Crash

Went to see this last night... was amazing! Will process more in a bit and let you know thoughts!

Oh My.....

You join me in an apopleptic state. We have three balls left to bowl out the Australians and take a 2-1 lead in the Ashes series. I cannot begin to describe to you just how I feel... ooophhh... Come on boys... 2 balls left.. bummer that Jones had cramp.. but hey! 1 left... what drama... I can hardly bear to listen! I'm staring at my screen as if I'll see it... But no.. a draw... you can't but be deflated. But I can guarantee that I'll be watching Today at The Test at stupid o'clock... my oh my.. Cricket. Wow!

Road tripping (out!!)

Kate and I then left camp to make the trip to Norfolk.. our estimated three hours turned into five hours, a full blooded performance of Les Mis and a LOT of screaming! The thing about traveling through our green and pleasant land in the summer (we did big up England in the early stages of the journey) is that its FULL OF BLOODY CARAVANS.. oh, and tractors! We sat in some very long and pointless traffic queues (about 70% of which were traveled during a need to pee phase!). We were so tired and confused that there was only one solution… the International Cast Highlights of Les Miserables. Add a very slow moving traffic thing and we had our captive audience. With windows down and some VERY good car acting we wiled away about an hour singing (all the parts) at more than full pelt! People went from looking back at us in their rear view mirrors to actually turning around and watching as we performed. A new art form is born. For the pastorally concerned among you: we did get here event...

Camp

Its been a long time since I’ve had a wee moment to blog. I’ve been AWAY!!! The first week of awayness was a youth camp with Tim (and Kate and Anna and Andy and Tim and Dave). We were in North Yorkshire, and it was hilarious. For a start it was really good fun to be doing youth work again. Working with adults for the last few months has left its mark: I kept using really long words, and I just wanted to have a really intelligent conversation! Was great to work with Tim again.. we had some very classic moments.. ask about the one where I told the kids to get out if they couldn’t be arsed.. the one where we did a multiple choice magazine quiz styley meeting… the one where we put mud and spit on some kids eyes! All in all a fun week… I loved getting the chance to do a bit of speaking and story telling.. was telling some stories from the life of David.. surprisingly the kids all LOVED it.. also had a bit of a rant about compassion… has brought home to me how much I love communicatin...
